Marda Loop Brewing Company is a new local craft brew company with a strong focus on recognizing history and place. They chose to name their 5 main beers after local historical icons that no longer exist but all played a key role in the character of the community.

We started by building the stories behind each beer’s namesake so patrons would understand the backstories and appreciate the intention behind each one. These were designed in the form of Beer Story Posters. Elements of the story were then distilled down into the label itself. Overall, there is a strong relationship between these valuable historic community icons – and the people behind them – and the intention of the new brewery to bring the same value and community purpose to the neighbourhood. The “packaging” was hopefully a trigger to having these meaningful conversations.
